Wk. beginning 3rd October 2022
This week we have started reading our new book 'Voices in the Park'. The children have really enjoyed sharing their own experiences of visiting the park and talking about their favourite rides! We have been examining the different characters in the story and discussing their feelings making a 'feelings ladder' to generate linked vocabulary. The children have been working hard on writing sentences to match pictures of the story in sequence.
In maths this week we have been exploring numbers and their values as well as ordering consecutive numbers. The children have worked with tens frames, playing cards and numbers to match and sequence the numbers. They have had to work in groups and practise their skills of co-operation!
We had a lovely Harvest Festival in the main hall this week and the children learnt about how Christians celebrate the food that is grown at Harvest time. They produced some lovely work about this afterwards. A big thank you to everyone who contributed to our Harvest display!
In Geography the children were fantastic at identifying Physical and Human features and were excellent at sorting a range of images under the different headings.
Next week we will be continuing with our science linked to the seasons and with our work on Puppets as part of our Design Technology focus.
We hope you have a restful weekend and come back to school refreshed for learning on Monday!
