Y6 Runway's End Sept 2023

Uno World Record attempt

We had an epic game of Uno on Thursday night where 10 of us played for almost an hour! I was multi-tasking whilst uploading the photos to the website and still managed a respectable second place! As you can see, great fun was had by all!

A fun morning brought our time at Runways End to a close. Amazingly, all of the children braved the caves and did us so proud. They also got some great shooting scores. We have had a great week together and every single child has challenged themselves, tried new things and grown in confidence, all whilst doing Shenley School proud. They have been a pleasure to take away!

As it was our last night tonight, we had a camp fire and made s’mores. We then had a sing along and dance to our favourite songs (courtesy of Mrs Henman’s portable speaker!). We made memories and it was a fun last night to top off a great week!

Abseiling was great fun this afternoon and allowed the children to really challenge themselves. One thing us adults were really impressed with was how every single child took on a challenge: even those that didn’t abseil down climbed up to the top and looked over the edge. Well done to everyone!

Nightline

Probably one of the funniest activities (especially as an observer!) as the children were blindfolded to move around an obstacle course. They worked together really well and managed to help each other round. Great teamwork!

Rainy evening Uno

Canoeing this afternoon!

Rifle shooting and low ropes

Both groups had great fun climbing today, although the second group were moved inside to climb due to the rain! Every single child gave it a great go and we were very impressed with their determination to go higher each time!

This afternoon we built shelters and lit our own fires, which we used to heat water for hot chocolate and roast marshmallows!

This morning we had fun on the canal with kayaking and raft building. We were all so good at it that none of us fell in! We were really proud of everyone for trying things they hadn’t tried before!

Orienteering and Team Challenges

After having time to sort out our pods and relax after our journey, this afternoon we did orienteering and team challenges. This was great fun and enabled us to work on our teamwork, communication and resilience!

Setting off for Runway's End, have fun!
