Weekly Learning - Week Beginning 5th December 2022

This week has been very busy for Year 1. We have been practising for our Christmas production, had a tournament in PE and enjoyed a thrilling animal assembly on Tuesday!

On Tuesday 'Living Things' visited Shenley School and we learnt about lots of different animals, where they live and what they eat. Some children were chosen to go up to the front and interact with the animals and everyone got to stroke a bearded dragon called Poogo at the end!

On Wednesday we completed our PE lessons on jumping with a tournament. The children worked in groups to see who could jump the furthest and the quickest. We then recorded on a chart either 1, 2 or 3 depending on who was the quickest or who jumped the furthest.

In Maths we continued to explore part whole models and played a game in pairs to find the missing part to the make the whole complete.

In English we are reading The Jolly Christmas Postman. We wrote instructions for a board game and a postcard for Humpty Dumpty with a question on.
