Week Three - Monday 2nd May 2022
Congratulations to all the children in Rowling class for a fantastic class assembly this morning! I am so very proud of each and every one of them, well done!
In English we started the week by writing a re-count of ‘The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane’ and ended the week by writing a book review! It’s safe to say there is an overwhelming recommendation of this book by the children in Year 4! Next week we will be starting our new book which is ‘Gorilla City’ by Charlie Small. Our focus throughout this unit will be explanations.
In maths this week we have been adding and subtracting fractions with and without regrouping. I would like all the children to practise fractions especially with regrouping, this week’s homework will reflect this. Next week in maths we will be looking at fractions of quantities.
For our science learning this week, we went on an invertebrate hunt in the school grounds, we are very lucky to have such a huge outside space that the children were able to identify, using classification keys, many different invertebrates. Next week in science we will be making habitat tables and keys.
Have a lovely weekend in the sunshine,
Miss Atkinson and Mrs Light
