Week commencing 6th March

I have been extremely impressed by how hard the children have been working this week. We have continued to look at the book 'The Snail and the Whale' by Julia Donaldson and today we used fantastic adjectives to describe the settings that the whale travelled to. Some of the children even used new language that they had learnt from the book such as 'vast'.

In Maths, the children have been working on drawing arrays to help them to solve multiplication calculations. They have picked it up quickly, and are showing good enthusiasm. This will help them next week as we continue with multiplication.

This week, our session with Watford FC focused on resilience and strategies to help us keep going in order to achieve a goal. The children enjoy these sessions with Watford and it is a great addition to our Friday morning!

Thank you to everyone that has brought in cardboard so far. We will be using this to make our own cars as part of our DT topic on 'Wheels and Axels.' I know the children are very excited about this, and I can't wait to see the finished product!

A reminder that next week is Science week. The children will be doing lots of Science based activities in the afternoons and have also been offered the opportunity to carry out a Science experiment at home and create a poster on it for our Science Fair on Tuesday 21st March (a separate letter has gone out about this).

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Have a lovely weekend :)
