Week commencing 30th January 2023

A great week this week. We have been doing so much great learning. We also began our class assembly this week. Remember to click on the link to sing our song in preparation!

In English this week, we first planned our final piece of persuasion writing. The children used their chosen place from Europe/United Kingdom to plan ideas, including key vocabulary and rhetorical questions.

At the end of the week we began our opening persuasive paragraphs! We also began addressing problems and issues and solved them in our writing.

In Maths, we have been working on decimals, rounding and multiplying them by 10 and 100.

We have also been working so hard on our times tables. You will have seen the new 'Multiplication booklets' that have come home. The children have been so dedicated trying to tick off their bronze, silver and gold awards for each table.

In Science this week, we began exploring the effects of drinks on our teeth. We used eggs - and set up jars with coffee, coke, water, juice, vinegar (and a few more). We are observing the changes to the eggs over some time!

The children are really enjoying Tennis! They are working with coaches from the Watford Primary Stars programme.
