Week Commencing 14th October

This week was an exciting week as we built and burnt our 'Great Fire of London' houses. The children looked at what houses were like in 1666 and built and painted them so that they looked the same. Then, today, we carried out our own recreation of the fire. We placed the houses close together, as the houses would have been at the time, and set light to one in the middle (our very own 'Pudding Lane' bakery). We watched as the wind blew the flames from one house to another. This was a great experience and really helped the children have some first hand experience of this terms history learning.
