Week Beginning - Monday 3rd October

Good afternoon, 

Earlier this week in maths we were learning to compensate, we done this by playing card games and giving the Jack, Queen and King different values. We ended the week by working on our mental maths, we have been mastering addition using different techniques such as 'Think - 10'.

Next week in maths we will be looking at place value mental subtraction.

We have continued looking at fables this week with a focus on the book 'War and Peas' By Michael Foreman. So far we have used thought bubbles to write ideas on what the Big King and Lion King might be thinking when they meet for the first time. As we progress through the book we will be writing our own fables.

In History this week we have started to learn about people who lived in the Bronze Age. The children have worked extremely hard during our History lessons and as they are all so engrossed in our 'Dig, Deep and Discover' topic I have decided to use this as a basis for our parent stay and learn. This will be on Thursday 20th October and we hope you can make it.
