Week Beginning - Monday 26th September

Good afternoon Year 3 parents and carers, hope you have all had a lovely week so far!

This week in Science  we began looking at the permeability of rocks, thinking like an architect about the effect of water, as to which rock was the best for a roof on a house or a statue in a garden!

We also had a great adventure looking at the rocks in the path on the way to the walled garden. We took time to enjoy playing in the amphitheatre then tasting all the delicious varieties grown in the orchard. I think we most enjoyed preparing the apples for juicing it was delicious!

In maths the children have been learning mental and written addition, we have started looking at column addition and I was super impressed with their 'carrying' understanding! Well done Year 3!

In English this week we have started learning about fables, today we learnt about the features of a fable and then the children created a poster which had the 'ingredients' for a fable.

Have a fab weekend! Miss Atkinson
