Week Beginning - Monday 17th October

....and just like that we have reached the end of autumn term 1! It has been lovely getting to know all your children this half term and it was so nice to meet with most of you during parent consultations this week. The children have all settled well into Year 3 and we look forward to seeing where the rest of the year takes us!

This week our English has been around our school book 'and tango makes three' we wrote a summary of the events that happened in the story. The children were encouraged to use time adverbials and prepositions! They produced some great pieces of work and after using our 'purple polishing pens' we published them for our whole school display! We also created some art work to go alongside this! Are book for after half term is 'The True Story of the Three Little Pigs' By Jon Scieszka.

In maths we have been looking at fact families and applying the inverse to operations. This children worked on some missing number challanges and had a go at creating their own! After half term we will be starting with written addition and subtraction.

We concluded out History topic 'Prehistory Britain' yesterday and a massive thank you to all the parents that joined us for our 'stay and learn' the clay pots looks amazing - bravo! 

Please note next half term Year 3 will have Forest school on a Tuesday afternoon and PE on Wednesday afternoon. I will upadate our class timetable once it has been finalised.
