Week Beginning Monday 14th November 2022

Thank you to all the children and parents that participated in the Remembrance Sunday service at the Shenley Memorial, Mrs Light called me beaming with pride with how well all the children performed, behaved and represented Shenley - so a huge well done! 

In light of the Remembrance service we used this significant event as a stimulus for our newspaper reports in English. The children that did not attend were able to interview those that did to gather information to write a newspaper report that was accurate and relevant.

In maths this week the children have been looking at written and subtraction word problems, we learnt how to use bar models to represent information as well as working out whether a word problem requires an adding or subtracting sum. Next week in maths we will be looking at statistics - interpreting and presenting data using bar charts, pictograms and tables.

I am really looking forward to our cinema trip on Thursday! We will be leaving school promptly at 9:15am. Children can bring a snack and a bottle of water.
