Week Beginning - Monday 10th October

This week the children enjoyed writing their own Fables, we used a structure about a boy who wouldn't share and the children wrote about the moral of sharing. Next week at Shenley is 'Book Week' and our focus text is 'and tango makes three' by Justin Richardson and Peter Parnell. 

In maths this week we have been looking at mental and written subtraction. The children have worked really hard on subtracting two and three-digit numbers with no carrying but we still need to work on the carrying. Next week we will be looking at fact familiar and inverse operations. 

In computing the children have been learning '2Code' we use Purple Mash as our scheme of work and all children have their on individual log ins so please use them at home to maximise learning!

Finally, this week we had Darcy from the 'Dog's Trust' in school. He came in to speak to all the children about dog safety! Year 3 really enjoyed their workshop where they got to ask any questions they had and learnt some interesting facts about dogs! Ask them what they learnt!
