Week beginning 26th Sept

THANK YOU TO THE TWO PARENTS WHO HAVE PURCHASED SOME BOOKS FOR ROWLING CLASS!!!

This was an extremely kind and generous gift which has made a dramatic difference to our guide reading sessions.

This week we have been lucky enough to be invited down to the Shenley Park where we were able to taste are variety of English apples grown in the Shenley Park Orchard. The children were then able to chop the apples to add to the apple press, where there was some delicious apple juice produced, which they all tried. Yummy!

In English the children have started planning their retell of the Boy and the Cloth of dreams focusing on creating paragraphs and speech punctuation.

In Science the children explored a variety of materials to see if they were conductors or insulators. They did this by setting up a simple circuit using a battery pack, crocodile clips and a bulb. Once establishing it worked and lit the bulb they could add the material to the circuit. If the bulb lit, the material was a conductor. The children had to be careful not to have the crocodile clips touching on the material they were testing as this gave a false reading.

We completed our work on tone and shading and looking at Sarah Graham as our (local) artist for inspiration.

Thank you for the Honey Cake from one of our class members who celebrated Jewish New Year. It was a delicious and sweet way to celebrate.
