Week beginning 21st September 2022

Dear Parents/Carers,

Even though the week has been short it has been action packed!

In English we have continued with our learning about 'Farmer duck' practising writing in sentences all of the jobs that poor duck has to do around the farm!

We have started practising our handwriting and writing in our phonics books this week so this has been new for the children.

In maths we have been practising conserving a number and showing numbers in different ways.  We have played lots of exciting maths games working with our learning partners, rolling dice, using playing cards and tens frames.

In science we have been learning to look carefully, make detailed observations and recorded what we could see in our science books.  The children practised using magnifying glasses.

In geography, we watched a clip about the seaside and looked at a range of photos taken at the seaside.  The children practised using the new vocabulary introduced and drew their own pictures and labelled them to show what they might see at the seaside.

We have been finishing off our hand puppets this week.

On Friday afternoon we had our class celebration for filling up our marble jar, we played some games and watched a bit of a movie.  We had some popcorn and chocolate brownies to eat as we watched! Well done to Kipling Class for filling up their jar so quickly!

Next Tuesday afternoon we are going to walk down to Shenley Park, where we will learn all about apples and apple juicing with Liz Ensor who works at the park.  This has been a very enjoyable experience with classes previously and I'm sure Kipling Class will get a lot out of the visit!

We hope everyone has a great time dancing at the disco and we can't wait to see all of your moves children!

Have a super weekend everyone!

Mrs Scanzi and Mrs Winsor
