Week Beginning 20th March 2023 - Week 5

This week Year 1 have been finishing off writing their fact sheets about Emperor Penguins. They have learnt so much about penguins and written some great information about them!

In Maths we have been 'Thinking 10' to add amounts together and now we are 'Thinking 10' to subtract. We played a 'rocket race' game where we had to count backwards and the player to reach zero first was the winner!

In Art we have been practising mixing colours and creating different shades and tints of the same colour by changing the amount of each primary colour that we add. We also did some sketching of plants as we get ready to complete our 'final piece' inspired by the work of Henri Rousseau.

In Science we completed a 'taste test' to see how good our sense of taste is! We tried a variety of different crisps to see if we could tell which flavour if was just by using our sense of taste. We created a pictogram to show which flavour crisp each person guessed.
