Week beginning 20th June 2022

Dear everyone,

Our wellbeing and sporting week has been amazing!  The children have had such a great time learning new skills and exploring new sports they have never tried before.

We started the week with the 'smoothie' bikes, with the children whizzing up their ingredients they had chosen to make their smoothies!  We have had tennis and badminton sessions as well for children to practise their hand eye co-ordination.  Also the class had a super time using a range of vegetables to create their own pictures followed by sampling and discussing the vegetables they were tasting.  Kipling class had such a great time in the archery lesson, and although many of them found learning the new skills tricky at first, they persevered and made fantastic progress in one session!  They loved practising their football skills in another workshop with the football coaches on the back field.

I have to say that our Sports Day was enjoyed by everyone and it was so good to come back together again as a whole school community with the picnic lunch and the fun run.  It really showed that the children had been practising their daily mile as they had lots of stamina and wanted to do extra laps!

Also we decided to improve our outside area this week with the children making lots of suggestions about our environment.  They all worked hard to tidy up using the brooms, dustpans, trowels and to pull up lots of weeds that had been growing.  We have planted some seeds and some basil and mint as well as some tomato plants!

Well done everyone, such a lovely exciting week!

Have a super weekend and we will see you next week.
