Week Beginning 20th February 2023 - Week 1
Welcome Back!
I hope you all had a lovely half - term! Year 1 have worked there socks off during the first week back! We have started our new English topic on poetry reading the free verse poem 'One Silver Speck'. The children have been acting out the poem and generating their own ideas to write a similar poem about a squirrel.
In Maths we have been doubling and halving using manipulatives to begin with and later thinking about number sentences which match our thinking.
We also had a fantastic book buddies session this week were all the Year 4 children listened to their book buddy read their reading book. The Year 4's were very supportive teachers and it was a great opportunity for the Year 1's to practise their book one last time before changing it!
