Week beginning 20.2.23

This week we are reading the story 'Mr Wolf's Pancakes.' We had a go at flipping pretend pancakes on Shrove Tuesday and had our own pancake races. One of the children set themselves the challenge of flipping more than one pancake at a time. He managed to toss 10 pancakes in one go!

In the story, Mr Wolf does not have a basket to carry all his shopping so he goes to ask Little Red Riding Hood if he can borrow hers. She rather rudely says no and slams the door in his face! Fortunately the children at our school are much more polite and they kindly designed and made baskets for Mr Wolf.

In Maths we have been counting and ordering numbers to 20. The children created towers to match numerala 1-10 and then some children decided to challenge themselves to make towers for numbers to 20.
