Week beginning 17.4.23
Week 1 of Summer Term and year 5’s are the Mini Police!
Morpurgo Class have been fortunate enough to have been visited by two police officers to tell us all about their jobs! This will continue throughout Summer Term 1 and next week they promised to show us the equipment they wear and even their car. How exciting!
In maths we have been looking at angles. Year 5 measured accurately using protractors and learnt the key vocabulary: acute, obtuse and reflex. Great work everyone!
In English Morpurgo Class have started a new class text: Shackleton’s Adventure. The children have researched characters form the text and started to plan and write letters to persuade.
In Guided Reading Year 5 enjoyed using their Film VIPERS to create emotion trackers for a powerful story about a young girl who dreams of becoming a dancer.
In preparation for the King’s Coronation, we used paint to create lovely artwork. They can’t wait to show everyone!
In Geography Morpurgo Class completed their topic on rivers. We looked at features of a coast and even how erosion affects the coast.
Week one is complete and there’s so much more to look forward to in Year 5!
Stay safe,
Mr Donnellan
