Week beginning 14th November

The week commenced with a House day where the children got to take part in a range of Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural experiences.

This week we have been immersed in our Design and Making project. We have designed a light box to go in a home and made design choices on the materials which were used, the design of the font, whether the bulbs would be inside or outside and whether the bulbs were incandescent or LED. The class were hugely successful working in small groups to create their light boxes.

In Science we explored how sound goes through a medium (solid, liquid or gas) to our ears. The children created annotated diagrams and charts to demonstrate their knowledge and learning. In maths the children have explore multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100.

In English, the children have been developing their writing exploring using verbs, detailed descriptions using accurate adjectives and practicing using short and long sentences to create tension and develop description.

In PE we have been taking part in gymnastics and using our bodies in different ways on the apparatus.

We ended the week with spots in front of our eyes! We wore spots to raise money for Children in Need.
