Week Beginning 13th March 2023 - Week 4

This week Year 1 have been enjoyed taking part in our Science week activities. On Monday the children carried out a 'Tea Dunking' investigation. We tested Rich Tea and Digestive biscuits by dunking them in warm water, to find out which biscuit could be dunked the most times. (Rich Tea's lasted the longest!) We made a predictioin, drew our equipment and made a tally of how many times the biscuit was dunked.

In Maths we have been making number bonds to 10 using tens frames and counters and practised writing number sentences. We also began to think about adding numbers beyond 10.

In English we have been continuing to learn about penguins. We watched a video about penguins and practised moving around like a penguin! We generated words to describe how the penguins moved.

In Jigsaw we have continued to think about keeping ourselves healthy and talking about objects which are safe and unsafe.
