Week 6 - Monday 11th July 2022

Hello, hope everyone is well.

This week we have been writing play scripts in English. The children have been looking at the dialogue from Alice in Wonderland and writing the narrative into a play script. We used scene eight where Two, Five and Seven were painting the roses red. I was really impressed with how the children used adverbs to describe how the characters were talking.

We enjoyed D.E.A.R (drop everything and read) time on the field and under shade this week! The children love the idea and concept behing D.E.A.R and its so nice to pick up a book, sit back and relax!

This term our artist study was Sokari Douglas Camp, she is a British-Nigerian artist who is an internationally renowned sculptor. She creates her works primarily in steel. Her often large-scale sculptures make frequent reference to her Nigerian roots, at the same time encompassing contemporary international issues. If you have some free time over the summer, Sokari Douglas Camp has a FREE exhibition on at the V&M. Please take photos to share with me in September if you do go!

As we come to the end of term there will be no class page update next week. We will be spending the last few days keeping cool as we are due some seriously hot weather! On Wednesday we will be having our class party. There is a sign up sheet for food and drink reuqests at the Year 4 enterence.

Finally, I hope to see you all at Shenfest on Sunday!
