WC 28th March 2022

Wow what a half term it’s been! We have worked so hard and had lots of fun, we all definitely deserve a break now! But before we put our feet up why don’t you take a seat and check what we’ve been up to this week…

We continued working on free verse poetry in English. We took a look in the mirror and wrote  poems using similes to describe ourselves, we’ve also written poems using alliteration and repetition. It was great fun performing lots of our work this week too!

This one really stumped us! Did you guess what it was...? A fish 🐠

Another tricky one... was it a dragon? Was it a dinosaur? No it was a Komodo dragon of course!

Continuing on from last week looking at multiplying by ten we used our place value grids to visualise this better. We found out that when you multiply by 10 the numbers jump up a column - ones become tens and tens become hundreds, and you add a 0 known as a placeholder in the ones column. This knowledge has helped us when we times by multiples of 10!

The whole of Shenley school have been creating ‘Art for Peace’. We were given the freedom to create individual pieces including sunflowers using the colours of the Ukrainian Flag. We can not wait for you all to be able to come in to view our gallery!

A quick science update, our plants are growing!

We have really enjoyed our swimming lessons this year and for our final lesson we had a great time playing pool football!

A trip to Tring Museum was a great way to finish off the half term, it was a busy day with lots of exciting things to see. Take a look at what we found on our class trip page…

We have lots of fun celebrating all of the Easter birthdays and enjoyed a class film with popcorn and cake as a special treat!
Well done to our superstar readers who have read every day this half term and been caught reading at home each week! I hope to see more of you achieving this next half term.
Also a big well done to our stars of the day this week and from all of us in Milligan Class, Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!
