WC 14th March 2022

Welcome to another week of learning with Milligan Class!

We have now gathered all of our information and really mastered the features of non chronological reports in English. This week we have started writing our own reports about pirates!

Maths has challenged us all this week. We started by finding compliments of 1 and moved on to adding and subtracting fractions with the same denominators.

It’s Science week with the theme of ‘growth’. In Milligan class we have researched the life cycle of plants, made predictions about what conditions would be best for them to grow and planted our own seeds, which we will be observing closely to see if our predictions were correct!

We investigated how height changes over time and invited children from each class to come down to Milligan class to be measured. After that we took a good look at ourselves as babies and compared that to how we look now! We really enjoyed guessing which one of our friends it was in their baby photos. Can you guess who any of them are?

We worked as a team to create the tallest freestanding structures using lollipop sticks and tape! It was definitely trickier than it looked!

To finish the week off we got to visit the Science fair, it was a real highlight!

To show support for families affected by the war in the Ukraine we wore blue and yellow and made donations to raise money for those in crisis through Save the Children's Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. We wrote our prayers and wishes on blue and yellow to create a whole school Ukrainian flag.

Another weeks work well done! Congratulations again to our stars of the day this week!

Come visit our page again next week we will have lots more fun and learning to share with you!
