Home School Reading Partnership

In Year 5, the children will be heard reading at least once every two weeks by an adult. Some children will be heard read weekly. When your child reads with an adult at school, this will be recorded in their online reading record with a comment by an adult.

All children will have the opportunity to change their reading book during the week if they have finished reading their book. Please ensure your child reads daily, in Year 5 this can be done independently. However, to continue our comprehension practise you can use the question stems below to formulate a question on what your child has read.

Children will also have a library bookThis book is one that has been chosen to read for enjoyment. Our library day is Monday so please ensure library books are in school to allow these to be changed.

Please ensure that your child learns their weekly spellings. The weekly spellings will shared with the children on a Friday to be practiced at home during the week.

Reading books should be kept in your child's bag so that we can have them in the class every day and update them when needed.
