Week commencing 4th October

This week the children in Jeffers Class have been working very hard in all of their lessons. In English, we have been writing our own versions of our story 'The Frog and the Stranger.' We changed the story by making the characters be kind to the incoming stranger rather than treat him rudely like in the original story.

In Maths we have been counting on and back in tens and looked for patterns in the hundred square. The children grew in confidence in this throughout the week and this is something that they can practise at home too.

In RE this week, we are learning about harvest celebrations and I was blown away by how much the children could tell me about the Jewish celebration of Sukkot. The children then designed their own sukkahs and wrote all about it.

Today was 'Hello Yellow' day where we all wore yellow for mental health. This afternoon we did lots of activities which focused on our feelings and also being positive.

Have a great weekend and remember that we are still collecting cardboard for our 'Great Fire of London' models which we will be building in the week commencing 18th October.

Miss Rawlings :)
