They learned all about fire and safety.

Then...

he set light to their "Great Fire of London" houses!!!

This year St Martin's church and Shenley Primary School collected a wonderful 315.4kg of food for our foodbank.

Using the Trussell model, this equates to an approximate value of £750.

Your food collected will help us feed around 65 people for 3 days, and for that we are extremely grateful.

Harvest "Thank you!"

Thank you and Goodbye to Mrs Henman x

On Wednesday afternoon we had a very special visit from

Bishop Jane Mainwaring!

She explained her job and how she shepherds so many churches in Hertfordshire. We learned all about her robes and the symbolism of each item of clothing.

Rowling class had a fantastic Stay & Learn, they found out all about the

Y4 times multiplication check.

The parents tested themselves and found out how quickly they had to answer the questions - 6 seconds! It was a challenge!

This week in Rowling class we have been learning to add and subtract 4 digit numbers and using resources to support our leaning. In Art, we have been practising and applying our skills and knowledge about tone and sketching. We have explored different sketching techniques in our realistic observational drawings. A very persuasive debate took place in English and the children were able to make their points clearly and with additional information for extra emphasis. A great week for all.

Saltmine Theatre company kept us fascinated with their show "In their shoes." This show taught us about accepting one another, appreciating our differences and caring for our neighbours. The spots and the stripes hated each other, by the end of the show they had learned to accept their differences and become friends. Thank you to the PTA for paying for this brilliant experience as part of our anti-racism curriculum.

Shakespeare class have been discussing what it would be like if Jesus came to Shenley primary school, what would he discover in various parts of the school?

Jeffers class have been experimenting in science with different materials and how they behave.
