Week beginning 8th November

We all had a great time on our House Day which focused on Science and children were able to take part in three different science investigations. 

A dodgeball trainer came into school and taught the game and techniques to our class. The children were trying out defending and marking, foot positioning when throwing the ball and being able to get their eliminated team-mates back into the game by catching the ball. 

The children have been identifying figurative language from Cloud Tea Monkeys and seeing how the authors have made precise word choices to create atmosphere. They then had an opportunity to write their own descriptive phrases and use figurative language. By creating a conscience alley the children looked at the reasons for and against Tashi going to work on the tea plantation. 

We took time to remember the soldiers which have given their lives for our freedom ad contributed to a whole school poppy display.
