Week 4 - Monday 22nd November 2021

Hi all, another lovely week in Year 4. We have had such a fun couple of days and I am ever so proud of the children. On Wednesday we went to the Woodland Spinney and planted spring bulbs with Jane. The children worked so well together and took turns. We planted daffodils and the children learnt that the native word for daffodil is ‘narcissus

In English the children recorded their stories of Biscuit Bear and then watched them back to write an evaluation, they wrote about something they think went well and something they think they can improve. Next week we will be starting our new English focus and we will be looking at Poetry. We will start with Kennings at the beginning of the week and end the week looking at poems by Steve Turner.

In Maths we will continue with time particularly focusing on ‘duration’ Please use all opportunities with your children to practise telling the time. I will update the mathletics to include the time unit.

This week we made a start on our DT projects and made the box for our light box. Next week we will be writing on tracing paper and adding LED lights.

Enjoy the extra-long weekend and see you all next week.
