Week 3 - Week Beginning 17th January 2022
This week Nursery have been learning all about 2D shapes! We have been trying to recognise and learn the names of five shapes; triangle, square, rectangle, circle and oval. We learnt a shape song all about these shapes, the video is below if you want to sing it at home! We have made shape pictures, sorted the shapes into different types and played a shape recognising game.
In Phonics this week have been focusing on rhyming words. We have played silly soup and only put the objects which rhyme into the pot! We also had a go at matching words which rhyme. Why not try finding some words which rhyme at home?
Next Week...
Next week will be enjoying the story 'The Gruffalo's Child'. We will be retelling the story using props and drawing a story map together as a class. We will also be listening for rhyming words in the book linked to our Phonics lessons this week also focusing on rhyming words.
