W.C 18th October 2021
We finished off our last week in Year 6 with some fantastic learning opportunities.
In Science, we rounded up our classification learning by creating our own micro-organisms out of playdough. Our learning partners had to classify them and justify their answers.
In English, we read the inspirational story of Ruby Bridges. After learning about her story, we became news reporters and wrote a newspaper article on her first day at school. These were fantastic pieces of writing and we are all so proud of our work.
We ended our week learning about the Windrush Generation and their journey to the UK. We wrote postcards in role to our families we had just left behind in the Commonwealth Countries. We listened to some calypso music and discussed the pulse, texture and the rhythm and how these might have impacted on the moods of those people on board. We were also able to sample some Ginger Cake. It was YUMMY!
