Residential - Celtic Harmony

Day 1 - We have arrived!

The newly named ‘Wolf Tribe’ (Year 3) and ‘Mammoth Tribe’ (Year 4 and 5) trudged up the stone path to the gates of Celtic Harmony! Stepping through the gates we were transported back in time to our new home for the next couple of days…

Welcome first activities!

We were welcomed with some fire starting in the roundhouse before we went off to make soup for our new Celtic friend Weylin. He taught us how to make different dyes out of herbs which we used to help make bracelets really stand out!

Next we had to make our way through a cave to find some flint to make tools. After a demonstration we all agreed maybe best practice on some soap first!

We quickly worked up an appetite and needed that all important lunch break and some fun and games with the teachers.

We weren’t too sure we would make it back to the roundhouses after our hunting and gathering so we made a den in the woods just incase we had to sleep there… Once they were ready it was off for the hunt! We practiced our spear throwing before taking on a mammoth as a tribe. Unfortunately the larger one got away but our gathering was more successful - apart from the few poisonous mushrooms we found! (Don’t worry they were only made of wood!)
Luckily we made it back to the roundhouses in time for team games and a chef cooked dinner complete with ice lollies to cool us down!

We imagine you’re thinking we’d need a rest after all we’ve done so far… Not for The Wolf Tribe! It was time for clay pottery before roasting marshmallows, weaving gods eyes and going out on our very successful, evening bat walk.

And finally it was time to settle down for the evening in our roundhouses before a second day of fun activities.

Day 2 - Warrior training

A feast for chiefs was laid on for breakfast! Our friend Weylin told us he needed warriors to fight for Queen Boudica! Our fearless wolf tribe were up for the job, but we needed training first! Archery, face painting, headbands, riddle solving, trading, warrior training and most importantly lunch helped get us  ready for battle! We earned gold coins for our training abilities and battled against The Mammoth Tribe (year 4 and 5) for the honour of being first to march into battle! With the best archery score Weylin has ever seen we were off to a strong start.

Through our hard work and determination The Wolf Tribe were victorious in our contest to win the honour of being first to charge into battle!

We all had a fantastic stay at Celtic Harmony and really hope you’ve enjoyed reliving it through this page with us!

Wolf Tribe we were very proud to be your chiefs for our time at Celtic Harmony! We learned a lot and have so much fun too. We enjoyed making memories with you.
