Did they really rampage about pillaging?

Were some of them farmers, builders and carpenters?

Thank you Year 5!

In year 2 this week, the children have been discussing working as a team. During PSHE, each team designed a mythical bird and then worked together to create it using various craft materials.

Well done to the representatives from our football team who got to the semi-finals and came 3rd overall in the school's tournament at Borehamwood FC

on Wednesday. Two 5-0 wins and lots of compliments on our good sportsmanship. We are so proud of how you represented our school. We can't wait to take the whole team to some more matches this term! Well done!

Morpurgo class went Wassailing at Shenley Park apple orchard.

They learned about the folklore, took turns reading a poem, enacted the ceremony to scare fairies from the orchard and gave thanks for a bountiful harvest. They hung up toast, soaked in apple juice for the birds to eat instead of eating the new shoots. They poured apple juice around the tree and tapped the bark of the tree to encourage the sap to rise.

The whole class were good ambassadors for the school, well done!
