Week Commencing 24th January

This week has been a busy week in Jeffers Class!

In English, we have been writing our non-chronological reports about sharks. We  were very excited that we got to research on the laptops and we used what we found out when writing the reports. Next week, we will publish these and I am very excited to see what they look like. We found out that a whale shark can grow up to 18m so we went out onto the playground and measured it out using metre sticks. The shark would be longer than all of us in a row holding hands!

In Maths, we have been doing subtraction using equipment such as beadstrings and dienes to help us. I am so impressed with how the children have got on with this and they have grown in independence throughout the week.

We have carried on with our Australia topic in Geography. As part of this topic, we have been learning about the 7 continents of the world and used a catchy song to help us. You can watch a video of it below.

Have a great weekend!
