Sports Week

This week is sports week and we are learning about keeping healthy. To start off our week, we talked about different parts of the body and what they do. Our eyes are for seeing, our lungs are for breathing, our legs help us to run, jump and play and if we didn't have bones we would be like a pile of jelly on the floor! We used post-its to label the different parts of our friend's body.

We were really excited to have a go on the new climbing equipment on the front playground.

We loved riding the smoothie bikes! We chose some fruit to go into the blender and when we pedalled the bike, it made the blender work, chopping the fruit up until it made a juice we could drink. The smoothies were delicious!

We had a tennis workshop where we learned to drop and catch a ball. We then had a go at playing a relay race where we had to run with a ball, touch a cone and then run back and throw the ball to the next person in the line. We all tried to be the fastest!

We really enjoyed the skipping workshop. First we had to jump over a snake and a crocodile and through a shark's mouth. We practised our footwork jumping over the rope. Then we had a go at turning the rope over our head and jumping over it when it was on the floor. It was really tricky, but we kept trying.
