Week beginning 13th June 2022

We have had a lovely week at school.  We have spent time rehearsing for our class assembly on Thursday morning, which was great with lots of drama, action and songs.  Thank you for coming along and we hope you enjoyed it.  On Thursday morning we had a real explorer in to talk about their expedition to the North Pole.  The children were enthralled as Bob showed them lots of the equipment he needed to take with him and showed them photos and videos of the trip.  They loved hearing stories about meeting a polar bear and when Bob ran out of food and had to eat soup made out of tea leaves and toothpaste!

On Friday we had Gabby's mum Juliet in to show the children an Nigerian drum and to do some playing and storytelling which the children loved.  All the children had a try at tapping on the drum themselves and it was lovely to see Juliet wearing a traditional patterned dress to the session.  Thank you very much to her for coming in!

In maths this week we have had a focus on recognising money and ordering it according to value.  In English we have been writing questions to ask Bob when he visited and writing down about what we learnt from Bob's visit afterwards.

Next week we are having our sports and wellbeing week and the children will be having a turn on the new equipment as well and there are plenty of workshops which the children will be taking part in over the week.  We hope you can come along to our school sports day on Thursday and join in with our picnic and fun run in the afternoon.

I'm sure you will be pleased to hear that Mrs Warren has re-joined Kipling Class for the next few weeks so we are all very happy to have her back with us!

Have a super weekend everyone!
