Week beginning 1.11.2021
It has been an exciting first week back!
The children have been learning about Bonfire night and firework safety. They created their posters which they were very proud of. Som are displayed in the classroom window.
In English, we started our new story 'Dr Xargle's Book of Earth Hounds' where an alien class teacher is teaching aliens all about 'Earth Hounds'. We focused our writing on punctuating our sentences correctly. We created a sentence criteria to ensure the children's writing matched the criteria.
In maths, the children have been using mental strategies to add and subtract such as 'Think 10' and 'think 100', as well rebalancing sums.
Forest School started again this half term which they all LOVED. Please can you remind you to bring WARM clothes (waterproof is possible) in a bag with everything been named - thank you in advance.
Next week, we have Science day which is in our houses so please can the children wear their coloured t-shirts. We will also be learning about Remembrance Day. The children will be creating their own poppy for a display.
