WC 2nd May 2022

This week was slightly shorter than usual but still lots of fun and learning has been going on in Milligan class!
In English we continued with our work on Ulf, the finger eater. Gudrun’s plan was so brilliant we had to write and tell our friends all about it! Although the plan was successful we couldn’t help thinking we could do it better! Take a look at our plans to trick that terrible troll.

In maths we’ve reviewed our place value knowledge by partitioning numbers and used this with our learning of division from last week to extend our learning. We’re now looking at dividing two and three digit numbers by single digits.

In humanities our new topic for the rest of the year is Ancient Egypt. We’re starting with Geography this half term, which means a trip down the sacred River Nile looking at human and natural geography for us.

In computing we had fun writing programs to move planes on the runway! We also enjoyed some free time on purple mash - making music, drawing, practicing our keyboard skills and lots more! Remember you can also log on at home and find more fun activities - search for Shenley school, your user names and passwords are inside reading records.

Year 3 Take Control of the Runway

Our new DT project is all about sandwiches, we were all very excited the first lesson involved eating them!

The first set of home learning came back this week and we are impressed! The feedback has been positive and great to see how many of you completed the work!

Another week of hard work done! Well done to our stars of the day this week and also the children that represented Year 3 at Hertswood School playing tennis this week who had a fantastic time and came 2nd!
