WC 23rd May 2022

The final week of this half term has been filled with fun and celebrations for Milligan class! What a great way to finish before a little break.

We’ve had a great time learning about the Queens Platinum Jubilee this week! In preparation we created some freestyle art of the Queen to turn into decorations, decorated plates and came to school wearing read white and blue, for the whole school street party! It was so much fun parading around the playground with our flags and eating lunch altogether.

In English we continued working on persuasive texts, first we added actions to our text maps from last week and then we looked at the different features of a persuasive text.

We finished off our work on long division in maths this week.

Having the sun out has really helped with our science lessons on light this half term. We had fun using different light sources to create shadows. We found out opaque objects, such as ourselves, make the best shadows because they block all of the light!

Our work on sandwiches got rather exciting! We were able to create our healthy and nutritious designs and eat them! What a delicious lesson that was.

The Nile is so long we still had lots to explore before finishing for half term. We looked at the positive and negative effects of the Aswan High Dam and wrote about all the interesting things we have learned over the half term.

Big round of applause to our stars of the week and superstar readers this half term. Well done for all of your hard work this half term year 3 you have been amazing and as a class you filled your marble jar so were able to enjoy a some party games, a class movie and an extra treat of cupcakes made by year 6!

Wishing you all a lovely half term, we look forward to seeing you back in school for the final term in year 3!
