WC 21st March 2022

We can’t believe it’s almost the end of the Spring term, even so we’ve still had plenty to fit in!

In English we have finished our pirate reports! We worked in small groups to write a paragraph each in neat and present it as a collaborative report.

After report writing we started to look at free verse poems and we loved having no rules! Have a listen to some of the things we wrote…

We had the opportunity to take our poetry outside to use the natural surroundings as our inspiration.

In maths we were told giants are 10 times larger than humans, so of course everything they need would have to be 10 times the size too! We had lots of fun scaling up objects by 10 and it was a great excuse to use our quick fire times table knowledge.

We have finished our guided reading book ‘Nothing’ By Mick Inkpen this week. We’ve really enjoyed reading it together and using our VIPERS skills to improve our reading and writing.

What do we love about Shenley Primary School and what could be improved? These were the important questions we discussed with our school council representatives. We had lots of thoughts and ideas for them to take back to the council next week and love that we get to have our say!

We’re almost there, one more week of hard work then time for a rest! Keep up the great effort Year 3 and well done to this weeks stars of the day!

Check back next week for our final week of the Spring term and to see what we get up to when we go off on our class trip!
