Curriculum intent

At Shenley Primary School, children are at the heart of everything we do. We strive to offer a rich, varied, and inclusive curriculum that enables every child to thrive, achieve and belong. Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to build meaningful links between discretely taught subjects, helping pupils make deeper connections and secure sustained progress across the wider curriculum. Through this approach, we nurture independent, creative, curious, resilient and reflective learners.

Our school values - self‑belief, teamwork, aspiration, respect and strength in kindness – are woven through every aspect of school life. These values shape how we learn, how we treat one another and how we grow as a community. They encourage children to develop confidence, work collaboratively, aim high, show respect and act with compassion.

Alongside our values, our school rules - be ready, be respectful, be safe - provide a clear and consistent foundation for behaviour and learning. They support children in making valued choices and contribute to a calm, purposeful environment where everyone can flourish.

We bring learning to life through a wide range of engaging activities that spark awe and wonder, foster a genuine love of learning, and encourage children to explore and understand the world around them. In doing so, we create an environment where every child feels valued, supported and empowered to reach their full potential.
