Week Beginning Monday 9th January 2023

What a great start to the new term! Year 3 have all come back to school very positive and full of energy! Let's hope this continues.

Firstly, I would just like to say a massive thank you to all the parent's for the very generous christmas gifts. It really is appreciated during these tough times.

This week in English we started our new text 'The Finger Eater' a book written by Dick King-Smith. The book is about a troll named Ulf who has a very bad habit of eating fingers!

In maths we have been looking at perimeter, the children have engaged well with this unit and our homework this week will further their learning. Next week we will be working at multiplication of the 3s, 4s and 8 times tables.

We started our Geography topic on Thursday which is all about Skara Brae and other settlements within the United Kingdom. This week the children discussed what people might be looking for when deciding on a place to settle and build a life.

In French we have moved onto our second unit which is 'numbers and colours' the children have learn ten colours in french. Do you know any of them?

rouge - orange - bleu - verte - jaune - blanc - noir - violette - marron - gris

Have a great weekend! Miss Atkinson :)
