Week beginning 28.11.22
Week 12 and Year 5 are singing carols on preparation for their concert!
To celebrate the start of December, the children put together and decorated a six foot tree! We even found an Elf on the Shelf on the classroom ceiling!
In English year 5 completed their stunning double-page spread explaining the everyday lives of the Maya. They have begun a new unit on poetry - take a look at some of their creative cinquains on the Headteacher’s Blog.
In maths we have looked at methods to divide larger numbers with short division. The children got a chance to show their working under the visualiser for the whole class to see.
In Guided Reading Year 5 enjoyed watching a John Lewis Christmas advert about an exciteable dragon and summarised the events thoughtfully. Year 5 read The shaman’s apprentice with a focus on expression and tone.
Everyone enjoyed their last Gaelic football lesson (before they return in March). We learnt new techniques and played an exciting match!
Week 12 is complete and there’s so much more to look forward to in Year 5!
Stay safe.
