This week we will be exploring poetry all linked to spring!  Have a think first of all about what makes a poem different to a story or a non-fiction text.  Maybe you have a favourite poem?

Task 1

Your first writing task this week is to read a range of poems – discuss how they are different from each other.

Identify the different features of the poems, eg colour present tense verbs in one colour, rhyme in another, adjectives in another and repetition in another.

Task 2

Read this poem ‘Hello to spring!’

Draw your own responses to this poem.

Task 3

Have a go at creating an acrostic poem all about spring!

Use each sequential letter in the word 'spring' to start each new line of your poem.

We look forward to seeing some of your amazing work this week!
