Well being
While we can’t hug
At the moment, a lot of children and adults are missing their friends and families. They are also missing hugs from these special people in their lives.
Don’t worry, the time will come again when we can hug all the people we love!
Please watch the story
Here are suggestions for things that you can do to show your friends and family that you love them, even when you can’t be close enough to hug them:
1. Writing letters.
Write a letter to someone and tell them how much you care about them and how much you are looking forward to seeing them.
2. Make silly faces, have fun together.
What fun things do you like to do with this person?
Could you phone them or Zoom, Whatsapp,Skype or videophone them and tell them a joke or a funny story?
Laughing is so good for us all!
3. Dance.
Put on some of your favourite music and dance. Tell your friend what you are doing and they could do the same.
4. Blow kisses.
If you see each other from at least two metres apart, blow kisses or send virtual hugs and kisses on Zoom.
5. Songs.
What is your friend or relative’s favourite song?
Sing it to them when you see them or phone them up and sing it to them.
6. Paint pictures for each other.
Paint a picture for your friend or relative and leave it outside their house or show it to them on Zoom.
I hope that you use some of these ideas to communicate with your special friends and family during this time of social distancing.
Mindfulness colouring sheets
These sheets express lots of encouraging things:
You make me smile.
I think that you’re wonderful.
You’re a star!
Thank you.
Who could you give these to?
Ask your mum or dad if you could post them to someone.
We all like to get lovely messages in the post.
Or post it through someone’s letterbox yourself ,with your parents' permission.
Lego Challenge
Make a dog and boy, like in the Vipers story.
