Week commencing 5th October

This week has been an exciting week in Swansea class as we had our class assembly. We had great fun putting it together and looking back on all of the amazing learning we have done already this year. It was a bit different to normal, but the children rose to the challenge!

In Maths this week we have been looking at decimal numbers. We have looked at the place value of them and then used this knowledge to compare and order them. We also practised our maths fluency this week by pairing up and walking around the room to answer fluency questions on a variety of topics that we have been working on since the start of term. We enjoyed this and it showed us how much we know!

In English we started a new book called 'Monsterology'. This book looks at different 'mythical' creatures and has a high standard of vocabulary which we have tried to mimic in our own writing.

This week we were looking at friction in Science and we tested our shoes on different surfaces to see which had the most friction. It was harder to move the shoes on the grass which suggested that this surface had the most friction.

I hope you have had a chance to watch our assembly and that you enjoyed it! I am very proud of them all and I am sure you are too!
