Week commencing 3rd May
I am really proud of Swansea class this week! They have worked really hard on everything that they have done!
In English, we have been writing diary entries as members of Shackleton's crew escaping their sinking ship. The children used adventurous vocabulary as well as the features of a diary entry and, from reading them, I felt like I was there!
In Maths, we have carried on with fractions and I am really proud of the perseverance that the children have shown. They were able to use their times tables to convert mixed fractions (such as 5 1/2) into improper fractions (11/2). Today was 'Number Day', a fun event to engage the children in Maths. Throughout the day, the children took part in a host of fun Maths activities such as making a Maths board game, 'Who Wants to be a Mathionaire?' and even Maths Pop Art! Each child was also given their own special number for the day. Great fun was had by all and the children learnt a lot.
In PE, the children have been doing tag rugby and are really picking up the skills of passing and tagging.
Have a great weekend!
