Week beginning 9.11.2020

This week has been a busy and fun filled week! We have had dance, drums, Remembrance Day, the duck race and parents evening.

The decorated ducks were super and the children had a great time racing the ducks. Well done to our winner but it was a great effort from all.

Dancing with Hayley was fab this week, we are very lucky to have her in with us. The children were very excited to be dancing and to learn a new routine to a really catchy song!

In English, we focused on using prepositional phrases in our writing to provide more detail for the writer and the rules of apostrophes. I spoke to some of during parents evening, any practise at home with the possessive apostrophes would be beneficial, particularly with plural nouns.

In maths, we have been dividing and investigating divisible laws. This where the children identify what numbers a number is divisible by. For example: 36 is divisible by 2, 4, 6 and 9. We also spent a lot of time focusing on our 6 timestables.

In science, we were learning that sounds are vibrations and how sound travels from a medium to our eardrums. I did send a message out on Marvellous Me about bringing in empty clean yogurt pots please for our investigation next week.

I found parents evening virtually a great success; hopefully you did too! It was lovely to have that time to have a discussion regarding your child’s learning. If you did not get a chance to see me, please have a chat with me after school.
