Week beginning 30.11.2020
It's been a fun filled week in Plymouth class! I am not sure if the children have managed but we currently have a new addition...Buddy the elf!!! He is considered to be a very valuable addition of our class (not sure Miss Cornwell feels entirely the same way!) and has caused lots of mischief already. He gobbled up Miss Cornwell's chocolate whilst reading some of the children's English work and hid our angel from the tree! Thankfully, today the angel was returned! Hopefully next week, he'll be on his best behaviour!
In English this week, we focused on subordinating conjunctions and clauses. The children worked very hard identifying the subordinating conjunctions in sentences and how they could use the subordinating clauses at the start of a sentence but they must punctuate correctly by using a comma (in the correct place). They went on to writing their own sentences about Biscuit Bear.
In maths, we moved onto factors. The children were investigating the factors of various of numbers and were working systematically! We also went onto solving integer scaling and correspondence problems.
In science this week, the children carried out their own research on animals hearing. In forest school, they created Christmas tree decorations using ribbon and branches as well as some wooden pendants.
Mathletics and Timestable Rockstars have been set so please ensure your child is completing those activities - thank you.
Have a lovely weekend everyone! :)
