Week beginning 23.11.2020

No pens Wednesday – what a day! We had drama, problem solving activities, debates, origami, facts and opinion sorting. It was a very interesting and rewarding day and I certainly learnt some interesting things about the class. The children had to use mathematical thinking to work out my mystery number, decide whether the statements were facts or opinions and we had a debate about whether homework should be banned. The majority of the class felt homework should be banned, sadly I had to them inform it wasn’t going to happen.

In English, we have both focusing on summarising and orally summarised the story ‘Biscuit Bear’ and then the children went on act out the story, which they loved!

Dance this week was great and children have been encouraged to practise the dance routine at home. Our song is from the musical ‘Hairspray’.

In Science, this week we were learning animals and their hearing. We discussed how some animals have super hearing and why some nocturnal animals need super hearing. I asked the children if they could move their moves which had them fits of laughter when  they tried. Some of them were able to wiggle their ears.

Have a lovely three day weekend everyone. Stay safe and positive J
